My Parents

What's a home page without family members, eh? In the picture above you can see my father, Mr. Udayan C. Shah and my mother Mrs. Janaki U. Shah. This lovely picture was taken near the town of Manali in Himachal Pradesh in 1991, where we went for a summer holiday.

It was my father who has cultivated most of my hobbies, especially astronomy and computers. Of course, later on, I pursued computers as my career and he was one of my computer "gurus" - not as a father now, but as a teacher. He was also my boss where I took lectures on UNIX and C Programming, at the Tata Unisys Ltd. Education Centre, Ahmedabad and he was the president of the Microcomputer Users' Club, Ahmedabad Chapter. He is a man of many talents, a lot of which are quite rare, and it would be a long job to type up the entire description here. My mother...I must say, is quite a patient person, especially having to put up with my nonsense day in and day out. She supports me in all my activities, sometimes in her own hard-to-understand manner, but I suppose then if anybody can put up with my antics and crankiness, they deserve a medal! If you want to contact her, I'm afraid she doesn't have a separate e-mail address, but then again, what is my dad's e-mail address for anyway?
